⌈New Avatar and Studying⌋
I made a new avatar again. See it to the right.
Anyways, studying: I have too much of it that needs to be done. T_T That's all there is to it. This includes homework-type stuff like essays as well. Can't wait to be done with this semester!
Twitter is awesome, I love it. If you don't use it, you should start... like now. Seriously, go do it now, start using it every day, and Follow me, and I'll Follow you.
Also, I just want to reiterate that Songbird is awesome. They have the first full release out, Version 1, which uses the icon I have in my avatar. From the way their blog's been going, it looks like Version 1.1 will be released pretty soon, too.
One more thing: the people at Trillian have been working on Astra since
2001!
Focus on the bugs, get the thing stable, release a public beta, and then add more stuff! Don't add buggy crap on top of more buggy, unstable crap! [/rant]

⌈Chewing gum addiction... among other things⌋
My current MySpace status: "spicy salsa... in my eye... ow." Yeah, wanna know why? Spicy salsa got in my eye... it
burns! Not really sure how it happened, but it did. All I know is I heard something fall so I turned around (apparently faster than the stuff could splat) and it went straight into my eye.
Anyway, I am now officially addicted to chewing gum. Not just
any chewing gum, mind you. It's gotta be the Winterblue Stride. Love. that. stuff... yeah. Just today, I'm pretty sure I chewed
at least six pieces. That's like... two after every meal!
School-wise, I've started back to classes (obviously, it being February now and all), and they're pretty dern tough. Especially that British Lit course I ended up taking to get away from Professor "NATURE!!!1!!11!1!11one!1one!". Crazy b-... basket. We're having to read about 10-30 pages every night, which wouldn't be so bad, but it's
OLD POETRY. Which also wouldn't be so bad, but we have to understand it before we get in there in case she decides we're going to write a response about it. I actually like most of the material, though. So that's a plus. Now, in addition to William Butler Yeats, I also like William Blake and William Wordsworth... wait, they're all "William". Apparently, I like all poets whose first name is William... weird. Oh, and by the way: I HATE ACCOUNTING!
With music, I've taken a liking to stuff by The Killers (especially
Somebody Told Me and
Sam's Town [Abbey Road Version]). I also got the new Franz Ferdinand album, but it's not all that great compared to their other stuff. To... mellow I guess? The rhythms and whatnot that made me like their first two just aren't in this one. What's with all the bands I like going soft!? (i.e. PATD's
Pretty.Odd.)
And finally, anime! Soul Eater is still my current favorite, but I'm also re-watching Death Note, cuz it's so awesome. And, although it was great at first, I halted my watch of NANA, since after the half-way point, everything bad that could happen, happens. It's just really literally way too depressing to watch now. They completely ruined it by doing that. It's not even "wow this was great cuz it pulled at my emotions" kinda thing, it's just
sad!

⌈Birthday⌋
So I actually had a pretty dern good b-day for once. :D I did have to deal with an exam and classes but afterwards we got some people together and went out to Mi Tierra (mexican restaurant). People were loud... very loud *coughsistercough*, so fun fun. Then we went to get doughnuts at Krispy Kreme and stuff. Then we went to the park... after dark... in the cold. My sister went crazy with the camera and went over to the tennis courts and started yelling at them and cheering and stuff. Eventually they hit a ball at her and told her to shut up, but it was hillarious. After a while we went home, and most people went to bed but I went out again with a friend from out of town. The ice cream place ended up being closed, as well as everything else around there, so we just went back. So yay, fun birthday.

⌈Painful Comparisons⌋
I'm one of those people that naturally compares their own lives to other people. It's not a concious train of thought or anything, it just is and happens. It's hard enough to compare your life with someone else's, but to have to compare it to something that's not real that was set up to be exactly the way it is... something like perfect. It's more than just hard... it's not even just depressing, but it's painful.
After this - after everything like this - I'm even more convinced to go ahead with my plan. I become more determined to actually do it every time I think about it. Of course there are some reasons that I don't want to, but I keep thinking that it will be worth it - it must be.
I once heard a preacher say something along the lines of: things are made difficult for us where we are to prepare us to leave it and move on, or to make us want to leave it, or something along those lines.

⌈The International Festival⌋
We went to the International Festival today for my sister's report or whatever. It was pretty interesting, especially the Chinese acrobats. Have you ever gone somewhere and just randomly run into like
everyone you know? That's what it was like today. It seemed like we met people we knew about every ten minutes. Anyways... I didn't eat any of the food, but my sister ate a Gyro with like lamb in it.
Apparently I'm going to the fair this week! :D :\ I don't like most of those rides. It looks like they're all about ready to fall apart, and they're not even trying to hide it! Ugh.. Maybe I'm just paranoid about them but whatever. =P I'm not that big on most fair rides anyway... a few of them are ok, but none of the rollercoasters or anything. Oh well, it should still be fun, or at least interesting.
Things otherwise... if you've got a Wii, get World of Goo. It rocks, 'nuff said.

Edit: Oh, and I was able to fix the oopsie (see previous post).

⌈Ubuntu and an Oopsie⌋
First off, the oopsie (as you may have noticed) is that I never noticed that the stars part of the blog skin was an image and not part of the flash file, so I never hosted it for myself. Now the designer's photobucket account has gone over its bandwidth limit, and I can't get the file. =P So... oopsie. It'll have to look kinda plain up there for a while. I mean... it's not like they noted that the image needed to be hosted on the skin site like they did with the flash file. >.< so I just always assumed it was part of it.
Now for Ubuntu! I finally got around to trying out a Linux OS! Yay me! What caused me to finally try it? Our computer was bombed with malware
again! :D *mumble mumble; complain complain* My family always comes to me, demanding that I fix the computer that they blew up doing who knows what. WhatTheTech, who I always use to help me fix the PC, decided that I'm a pirate because there was a file called "new windows.zip" in one of the scan logs. Yeah, uhm... that's from when I was messing with our themes and junk. We've never had a reason to need a pirated copy of Windows... all our OS's are genuine. ...assholes... They won't listen to anything. The moron who was helping me just keeps going "Maybe you should read the rules!" And I have... and they simply state that they will
ASK that I
REMOVE the
so-called "pirated" files / software from my PC before they will
HELP ME. Pretty sure that's not what they were doing...
Anyway... I was trying to burn / run a Live CD to demo Ubuntu, but the stupid thing wouldn't work. I found this WUBI (?) thing that's like a program version of the OS... sorta? So its kinda like having a dual-boot Windows / Ubuntu, but it doesn't modify the Windows OS or need a separate partition (just a chunk of GB to save / act on). Whenever it tries to access some stuff, like the resolution, though, it kinda... freezes... yeah, not good. So if I end up liking Ubuntu, I'll be looking into how to dual-boot it with Windows. From what I've skimmed over, it looks like I'll have to format the hard drive disk thing to partition it though. So I'll have to backup everything we need to keep. Good thing I ordered that 8 GB flash drive. -_-;
So far it's pretty nice. Much better style and look compared to XP (except in programs.. since I can't use stuff like Office 2007 anymore, but OpenOffice works nice). I'll look into some kind of emulator... or VM... or WINE eventually though.
As for other things going on... we've almost finished decorating the house, so I should be able to get some nice pics up soon. I'm taking my little sister to the International Festival at my college this weekend. She has to write some kind of report about it for her class. Should be fun.

⌈More Stuff⌋
I felt the need to post twice today... obviously. I've found that deviantART is awesome. I've been checking it a few times a day to see all the new popular stuff that gets put up. Some of it's really good. Just wish I was artistic so I could contribute too, lol.
You may have noticed, but I recently changed my avatar from the Orca thing to a soul... thing. I was gonna change my usernames and stuff to Soul something or another, but couldn't ever think of anything good. So I decided to just keep Orca239 and go by Jag or Soul, depending on when people met me. Still sorta wish I could think of a good username. Eh, anyways...
I went and bought like... an entire new wardrobe or w/e basically last Monday. Seems pretty different from the basic stuff I used to wear. Except for the loss of all that money, I'm really happy with the new stuff. I feel better and more comfortable wearing these clothes. =) Got my hair cut by a different person too, and it seems... better. Good enough at least... I guess, lol.
